Bellevue House National Historic Park Honored as a National Historic Site, this early 1840s home has a distinctive Italian Tuscan style that was unusual for its time. Bellevue House served as a rental home to government officials, including Sir John A. MacDonald, Canada's first Prime Minister. MacDonald's short time at this residence was marred with sadness, as his son died and his wife was very ill. Today some MacDonald memorabilia can be viewed, and informative tours are available. Seasonal opening. Address: 35 Centre St, Kingston, ON Canada
